3.8 911 help. Part 2 - Brakes

Brakes

car should eventually be around 2.500 lbs...
Brakes need to be upgraded...

930 brakes or 993 or 996s. I really don't have a clue on this one

I think the questions that are going to come are:

How much hp will it put out?

What kind of wheels do you want/need to run?

Street or track? or what combination thereof?

Definitely post some pics of the engine.

The engine will be a 3.6 Varioram taken to 3.8 RS specs. it should put out around 330HP.
For the wheels I am going to use Lindsay Racing 17' Fuchs. Thinking 9' in the front and 11' at the back.
The car will be a daily driver with 15 DEs per year.

The other vital question is "what is your budget?" - that more than anything else will dictate what you end up with.

You have the room behind the Lindsey wheels for big reds, which will do everything you want for street and DE and for which kits are readily available. Question is, do you have the budget?

If you don't, there isn't much point in talking about big reds or anything else at that price point.

I am looking to drop $35-40k on the car.
$25k-27k on engine conversion
$3-5k on widebody conversion
$3k on exhaust

Suspension and brakes should do the rest. I think I can squeeze a set of big reds in there. My 3.2 should be worth around $4.5-5k

The minimalist route will be 930, also sort of old fashioned

The Big Reds are overkill but that's not a bad thing and rotors are cheap(relatively speaking)

the 996tt are more difficult to fit and a lot more expensive and even more over kill

You do not want 996aka Boxster S, the rotors are too small

How about Brembo GTP. Steve Weiner at rennsport speaks highly of them. They seem to be reasonably priced as well...

Haven't used them so no comment but I did pass on them because of piston size concerns, it may be a non issue I just dunno
