quick...easy bilstein question

when installing new bilstein inserts I understand that nothing from the old insert goes on to the new one, is this correct?
from the pic; I'm just going to put the hat on and shove it through right?

That's correct, just the hat. BTW, what was on the old insert? I watched Vash do this just last week and now I can't remember waht was on the old insert, if anything.

Get rid of that little rubber washer you have on the shaft...from all reports (and some have called Bilstein to confirm), it was for shipping purposes only. I discarded mine.

this comes off when you turn it upside down, not shown is the bump stop bellow thing, it's too skinny to fit on the shaft anyway
