Im desperate and dont know what to do next. I replaced all my fuel lines, as the one to the WUR started leaking, and the car didnt want to idle or drive properly. This happened all at once, as it had no problems before. All problems started all at once. I drove it almost every day. '80 911 sc standerd no O2 etc. Replaced lines - still same problem Next I replaced the fuel filter - same problem Then replaced all the spark plugs - same problem. I also changed the oil, as the car all of a sudden ran rich, and I wanted to make sure there were no fuel in the oil. I then discovered that the fuel distributor is not supplying fuel to number 5. Sent the FD for repairs + cleanup. Put it back, better, but car still idles poorly, and is undrivable. Next I pulled the injectors. Number 5 injector is totally damaged, I could blow air through it! I replaced the injectors with second hand ones. Now I'm getting somwhere. The car idles 95% OK, but not when I drive it. Once I get to 3000rpm it is as if it runs out of fuel. It is still running to rich, the exhaust is too dark. I use leaded fuel. I tried to adjust the mixture, but it remains rich, even if I turn it leaner. What should I look at next? Im thinking WUR? Unfortunately I dont have a fuel pressure tester, but gues I should go and get one today. What should I do next? This has been a 3 week nigthmare. Please Help. Marius

I also want to ask the following. If I take the wur off the car, and I blow into the inlet I can hear air escaping from the oultlet. When I open the WUR and press the pin into the hole, and I blow into the inlet I can stil hear air escaping. In this case it will not help by knocking, or pulling the plug, as it seems that the flow of fuel is not affected by the pin at all. Could this be my problem, and does this mean I must get a new WUR?

Marius,
You may want to chat to the guys at M&R Motors in Johannesburg - I've never used them myself, but one of our fellow P-philes, Schalk Burger swears by them. I think the guy to speak to is Mario... They can be contacted at: (011) 493 5736 Failing this, why don't you pay a visit to Tim at John Abbot in Midrand, between him and his dad I'm sure they'll have you sorted in no time! Cheers! In case you have not solved the problem, and assuming the UWR is the culprit, here is good write-up of the WUR pressure test procedure:
System/Control Pressure test for dummies? You can also try to contact Robbie Scott of RS Autosport in Wynberg (011) 4442587 for assistance. LeRoux

Willem/LeRoux,
The car is running now, after a lot of swearing. After I replaced the injectors I again took the wur apart, cleaned it and made sure I put it proparly back together. Then I took it to a guy in RBurg (Ken Prangley) he tested the wur pressuers, and it was way out of speck. He adjusted it, now the car is back to the way it was. He however remarked that the new injector lines I put in has the incorrect inside diameter, and suggested I replace them again. So this is all that I still have to do, but other than that the car is OK again. Now I now a little about CIS!! Marius
