Zenith carb plug sealing?
It's rebuild time and the plugs that cover the transition ports appear to be sealed via some white substance on the thread rather than a washer. This would explain why they were v. tight to undo. When rebuilding has anyone replaced this white sustance? What is it? Any recommendations for alternatives you can get down your local motor factor?
See piccy below for the plug in question.... ![]() Thanks for any advice! Gary |

Looks like corrosion to me. There should be a copper sealing ring.

Like Jamie said, there should be a copper sealing ring, but someone may have used some type of sealant as a substitute. They are included in the rebuild kits if that's the direction your headed. Nit sure if they're available seperately.

Thanks for the replies, I've got a full rebuild kit so I'll check for any spare sealing rings.
