Great pictures. Thanks for posting them.

It's funny. The 911 design -- to me -- always has a great timeless look, until you set it next to a 356. Then, suddenly, the 'sixties-ness' of it comes out. I still like it, of course, but parked next to a 356 you can get a real sense of the fifties giving way to a cooler, more efficient decade of design.

No doubt, Jack. The evolution of the Porsche design has to be the most classic of all time. The roots are always visable, something that others do with a grille (Alfa, BMW) or a badge. The silhouette of the Porsche is one of the most recognizable designs in all of art.

Jack's faith wavers. It's only a matter of time then, isn't it?

i have to say if i had the funds and the space i would add a 356 outlaw coupe to my stable.

it was an incredible turnout. lots of new cars and faces. lots of new mods to familiar cars and faces. the white 67S owned by gary schultz just became my favorite 67S. he just installed a set of peter's seats which really completed the whole "sports purpose" look. i got to sit in his car and with one other person in line to take their turn i just had to rudely pause and take in the interior of his car. everything was just about perfect. such a cool car. he really put it together "right". if you have the money these are the seats to get...without a doubt.

the wheels on the blue 356 are 944 space savers anodized by harvey...instant outlaw!

for those of you not in the area, that's pixar in the background which takes up several blocks perpindicular to EASY.

all in all a fun gathering. good to see the gang again.

NorCal representin'!

Alternatively, I have to say that, like Bob, if I had the funds and space, an early 911 would be in my hands. I like that the 356'ers and RGruppe hang out so I can get my fix. The blue 356 is mine though!

Bob, question about the 67S you talked about. Do you know what kind of belt setup he installed? I've been trying to figure out how to get a better three point set up in my car. Is Gary on the list?

jbm,

Gary doesn't cruise Pelican very much, so I'll answer for him (he's my brother)- he mounted 3/4 of a Deist four-point harness to the factory lap mounts & threaded boss he found near the back (can't remember what it was for).

Bob, Gary's and yours and Eric Linden's cars are probably my top contenders for 'favorite short wheelbase street car', its awesome to see two of them together. I'm jealous you saw the interior- the last time I had a chance to drive his car, it still had the comfort seats in it. BTW, without an air cleaner, it sounds like a 906

It makes me homesick for N. CA just seeing these pics of the EASY gathering on a Saturday morning. Some of us die hards use to hang out from 9am to 2pm just lookin' and talkin' about these great cars. I miss that fairly regular event greatly! It's how the R Gruppe got started.

Great pics!
