This site has two for a K-26, but not sure if they are for a 3LDZ. Worth a look at any rate I guess.

K26 and 3DLZ have nothing in common. 3DLZ is old papperweight usually attached to the back of 930. I have never seen any maps for it...I wonder if they even exist. K27 is developed from 3DLZ....K26 is mostly seen in 951's

Thanks guys, I was trying to go the cheap route and thought I found it. I'm going to size a Garrett unit for my application(s) now.

Goran, you can probably pull this out of your head...what's a good 5-7 psi max boost unit for a 3.0-3.4 liter engine, for fast spool up. I need to crunch some numbers at home tonight, but might as well throw it out there for you and the gang.

I've been looking at the T3/T4/T04 Garrett units. This will be for a low boost system with milded HP aspirations, no inner-cooler and w/ CIS or Motronic engine control. In the CIS application I will add a pressure switch and an injector for enrichment. In the DME engine I will have a custom chip made.

..I'm not going crazy yet

You want something that will flow arround 32lbs/min at top end.

KKK K26 off a 951 might actually work, it's inte the same power-category. Garret GT32 (non BB) will also work, altough GT-series turbochargers aren't made for such low boost pressure.

All in all, it's probably not worth doing if you only want to boost 5 psi.

You didn't say what you are trying to achieve but I guess you are planning to retrofit turbocharger on N/A engine and use low boost. As far as I heard, US-market SC engines will tolerate up to 0.5 bar boost...

0.5 bar of boost on SC engine is around 290HP, 32lbs/min flow...but you'll need to find a turbocharger that's efficient at high flow and low boost for achieving best results.

Yes, Goran, I'm boosting an NA car. I've been looking at compressor maps on and off all day! At 6000RPM, I'm looking at 36.5 lbs/min ideal flow using 8 psi of boost. I don't think I'll find the ideal turbo, but I'm hunting for a good fit.

I bet you'll be quite pleased with 8 psi whatever you choose, so you could start with used T04, K26 or similar. When everything works you can experiment with other turbocharger.

That was kind of my thinking Goran. Once all the plumbing has been done, I can refine it. I'm cheap as a mofo...so the parts cost have to be low ..LOW

Thanks!

Souk, You're pretty close to what would be used by Protomotive on a stage one 3.2 setup. Here's a summary from other threads:

"We (Protomotive) use the 60-1 in a T04B on a P trim wheel, then vary the a/r of the turbine housing for either Stage 1,2 or 3 from a .58 to a .84. The Stage 1 get's the .58 for good low speed response, but it kills the power on a Stage 3, so the Stage 3 get's the .84. But this way, we don't have to keep selling new turbo's every time you want to upgrade.
The 60-1 is one of the most flexible compressors in the T04B family and has the best surge line. So, surprisingly, even though it's larger than the V series, etc. It actually can make better boost and more efficiency throughout the range.

Boost onset is approx. 16-1800 rpm's with .5 bar at 26-2800
rpm's."

Turbo: T04B
Compressor trim: 60-1
Turbine trim: "P"
Turbine A/R: .58 to .84

$350 is an excellent price. A .96 A/R is a bit on the large side...how can one convert? DIY job?

I would opt for internal wastegate. It keeps headers simple and cheap.

Plumbing can be done cheap by cut/paste job on OEM exchangers. It won't look nice but it'll work.

I love E-bay...and I love keeping it simple, like the integrated wastegate.
