RS Plastic Fuel Tanks
Where might I source a RS style plastic fuel tank. Are there any aftermarket suppliers? Pros or Cons to the tanks? I'm planning a RS/RSR conversion to a '73E and hope to replace, rather than flush and recoat, the current steel tank. Bad idea?
Search function yielded little information on the tanks but provided interesting comments on the fit and finish of Fiberglass body parts. Thanks in advance... thomas |

Pros: Light.
Cons: Expensive, susceptible to rupture whenever the car bottoms out, not as fire safe as a metal tank or a fuel cell.

Won't be much lighter when the two are full of fuel

Also most reputable racing organizations won't let you on the track with one.
