My condolences to American International Racing. You need to be more carefull who you sell your bodywork to.

john walker's workshop 12-10-2004 12:54 PM

wouldn't catch me drivin it, unless it was for a customer. then i'd take the back roads.

kach22i 12-10-2004 12:57 PM

It may look a bit over the top, but it is mid-engined.

some people just have too much free time on their hands.

Wrecked944 12-10-2004 12:59 PM

I guess the idea of making a true mid-engine forced induction GT1 replica gets me pretty hot and bothered - but why not go the whole nine yards and give it the gorgeous GT1 exterior as well instead of that fugly abortion?

RickM 12-10-2004 01:00 PM

That's one w i d e Mutha

mede8er 12-10-2004 01:01 PM

They advertise it as a 'proven winner' yet display no info on what it's won.....fishy......

kach22i 12-10-2004 01:01 PM

Okay it's silly looking, here is a mid-engined monster done right.

Actually, for $49k it looks to be very well built with many high end components. Comes with a trailer as well. Curious as to what the base car was.

jmz 12-10-2004 01:11 PM

looks like a good racecar to me.

emcon5 12-10-2004 01:28 PM

It says Motec in the listing. If it is Motec, why did they keep the CIS fuel distributor?

It has SCCA Club racing stickers, Does that thing even fit a SCCA class?

Pete000 12-10-2004 01:34 PM

Looks a bit odd, but the fabrication looks pretty good.

Yeah, baby, yeah!! That's what I'm TALKIN' about. :D

I bet a new set of body panels could do wonders for that eBay car.

kach22i 12-10-2004 01:37 PM

It claims to be based on a 996, but might not even be a 993.

Many issues with this bird.................thinking foul.

widebody911 12-10-2004 01:37 PM

This car has been discussed here before; guess it didn't sell the 1st time

From the B pillars forward, it isn't half-bad.
