Rust Removal
anyone ever used a product called Valspar for rust removal? i want to treat my battery area and can't find anyone locally that carries Wurth or POR-15. thanks

You can buy direct via the POR-15 website....they ship products quick.
I would suggest using POR-15 Metal Ready first to etch the surface, rinse, let dry then POR-15 paint. I'm sure there are other products like Metal Ready (zinc phosphate) available at PEP Boys.

thanks for the response chuckw951 i know there are several places i can order it from but i was hoping to find it local or an equivalant product locally so i can repair it this weekend while my car is apart doing other mods. we don't have Pep Boys here either, the stuff i found at the other chains are very thin products.. from the pics i have seen the POR-15 leaves you with a more dense(thicker finish.

I used to buy my POR-15 products from a distributor who gave me a better price than the company's national website.....check around in the Internet. However, their shipping, as Chuck says, is very quick. Just make sure you follow their instructions TO THE LETTER. I made the mistake of taking a few shortcuts over the years and had to re-do that area almost every time.
