Open Hole (inspection?) in G-50
I was fixing my backup light switch on my '88 Carrerra and noticed what looks like some kind of inspection hole at the bottom of the transmission where it attaches to the engine. I could clearly see gear teeth (flywheel?)
My question is, is this supposed to be exposed? Or am I missing a cover or plug? thanks Todd '88 Carrera ![]() |

No that is how my 87 is. The chance of anyhong getting in there is really close to zero.

There is no plug, that's how it's supposed to be.

Mine too.
I imagine that opening is to drain fluid (be it oil or whatever) in the event fluid does get inside the bell. Better to have it drain, and let you know there's fluid inside, instead of the fluid accumulating and getting slung around within?
