Yes that seller isn't exactly known for good prices... but man do I love that frosted finish. A decent set went on ebay for $4350 a few weeks back...
I'm surprised there's that much of a market for the 15 " wheels that wide. I didn't know so many people built RSR's!

Seriously, that is $7000 for wheels. Think about it.

Yeah, so true.

Funny thing is, it wasn't always that way with him... just the last 4-5 years.

His price on the 3.8RS long block is rather scary also. $19,900. That is long block, new. No injection, exhaust, etc.
Ouch!

If some dumba$$ is going to pay the prices he's asking, more power to him.

Regarding the wheels, good luck finding tires to fit those.

It has got to be tough making a living selling Porsche parts, especially when you have to compete against larger companies with deeper pockets. Not that it looks as though Dave is going hungry

Every time I've see him at the swap meets he does have good quality, sometime unique, but pricey parts.

On a personal level and away from business, Dave is a great guy.

Dave is a nice guy, I've bought quite a few things from him over the years. I actually got a set of 7' & 9' Fuchs for a 1/2-way decent price from him.

I had a set of these wheels before, bought them from a bloke in Australia. By the 3rd set of rears, I found that the 285/40-15 was NLA

My favourite is the part where he says "No Reserve!!" Do you need one when you start the bidding at 7000??

He is the best example of capitalism. If he sells them, more power to him. I *love* to hate the guy. Greed has no place here, but is OK on eBay.

A friend of mine raced RSRs in the 70s and was backed by the factory(somehow don't really know the whole story) He lent his car out for a weekend event and the guy totaled it. Bird man My friend was upset and decided to cut his losses so he junked everything. He threw out 6 sets of rsr rims. He still has some of the fiberglass body parts and may even have one more set but to this day he denies having any more rims. I swear I say a set sitting there a couple of years ago but he is tight liped. Anyhoew that is amazing.

I'm good with capitalism, and I think the parts he offers look pretty nice (Kevin - sorry to hear about your experience!). But the 3.8 long block cost is simply out of sight crazy. If it was half the price, it _might_ be worth it to a deep pockets person. But at $20K it just doesn't seem to make any sense.

life's too short. i would start that auction at 99 cents with no reserve. ... you never know, it could go higher than 7 grand. perhaps if there was an image of the Virgin Mary on them as well, oh the possibilities.....

he also had a set of real 911R rims next to the add i linked. his price on those was like 4K.

i did not know who the guy was, or have any experience with him, my post was not to slander him, his products or prices. i just thought that price was pretty out there and worth posting. carry on.

I've followed some of Dave's parts on eBay; they usually don't sell. A while back he had a very cool 15" Fuch w/collapsible spare for $700; I almost bit, but came to my senses.
