HVLP gravity feed paint guns

Anyone out there painting car parts (spoilers, etc.) with one of these guns and a standard compressor. I need to spray my front spoiler and was wondering how this system compares to a standard spray gun. I have a Binks 115 touch up gun. What air pressure with a standard compressor. Since I will be painting in my garage I would like to minimize the overspray as much as possible.

I have a Devilbill grav-feed HVLP and it works fine with my compressor; I use a regulator between the hose and the gun, and another at the gun. I painted my 911 with this gun.

Unless you plan on painting more than a spoiler or things like that.
The one you have will do fine.
Don't waste your money on a new gun.
If you have any thing in the garage thats nice paint is gona get on it with eather gun.
It makes a mess.
Spray it outside and then move it into your garage.

Don has some good advice there, but if you are going to start painting things (which you will), and you can afford a tool that you don't use too often, go ahead and get one and learn how to use it.

You will get a narrower spray pattern and a little more orange peel due to the fact that the gun doesn't atomize the paint as well, hence the increase of material transfer and less bounce off (commonly referred to as 'overspray').

I can't get away from my pressure pot and 4 foot leads to the remote gun. The gun is light since there is no cup full of paint to carry and the gun will spray in any position. I have full adjustments from almost an airbrush to a full 12" pattern and from light lacquers to heavy enamels (sometimes using different air caps, fluid nozzles and needles). Only downside is cleanup.
