What do you guys think of this [pic]
I bought these front brembo for my 87 911. They came in black[thats the only color]. I sent them to brembo to get them in red. They are about one year old. Look how the paint has peeled of. I had them painted before I even took them home. Is this normal wear and tear ????

WHich Brembo did you send them to? The calipers sold by Brembo North America are all painted in Italy. The US has too many restrictions on the type of chemicals and a different paint is used.

Since you are relatively close to me, I can powdercoat them for you. I have been doing this is in my garage for a number of people lately. Let me know.. Chris |

Well now I think I am stuck. A client sold these to me. He worked at a shop in Marina Del Rey. A Brembo shop. I thought. He brought them to me. Then took them back to be painted. The calipers were flawless. It was I job I was sure done by Brembo. But it could have been anyone now. I think I will leave it for now. When it worsens I will deal with it.
Thanks to all !! |

That happened to my calipers too about a year after I painted them with that cheap brush on paint caliper stuff. You can even chip the paint off with a flathead screw driver.
Powercoating is the only way to go. |
