3.6 flywheel conversion question
Hey, for those who have done the 3.6 conversion I have a flywheel question. Im using the 915 box and received a new flywheel from Timmins, but it does not have teeth on it for starter engagement. It does have the tone wheel notches. Anyone have a photo of theirs or tell me what Im missing? My engine didnt have a flywheel on it when i got it, so i have nothing to compare it to. Past custom flywheels I have used came with them for 3.2 conversions, but im not sure if the 993 has a piece that needs to be transferred over.
Thanks.. |

The ring gear for the starter is a seperate piece which attaches to the pressure plate

Thats what I intially thought but the parts catalog only lists a seperate ring gear for the RS models, and a dual mass for the regular models. But I thought the custom ones had a ring gear built onto them, as my PP has no place to bolt one to.

are you using a 915 or 930 pressure plate? either one has the provision for the starter ring gear to slip over. There are notches in the ring gear that line up with the corresponding hardware on the pressure plate.

OK brain fart....... i was looking for the 3.6 part, but im using the 915 trans/clutch with custom flywheel, which means i need the 915 ring gear, not the 3.6 part.
