That comment is correct. The emissivity will go from about 0.9 to perhaps 0.1. See tables and cites in any heat transfer text, such as Krieth or Karlekar & Desmond.

It won't be a big tho - raidiation from the case is not a major avenue for cooling anyway.

Once you get your engine really clean, it doesn't get too dirty unless you got some oil leaking somewhere or like to drive off road.

It's hard for me to say anything negative about it, especially since its off my car and I will soon be selling it. In theory, they should work better then the stock set up. I found with my new engine rebuild (3.4) that I could never get it lean enough. Steve W is use to tuning these motors on the stock setup and that is the way we went when he custom mapped some chips. It may be possible to tune in the MAF, but it would take a day with Steve in the car to get it right.
