ER Rubber Spring Plate Bushings

I'm interested in people's experiences using the Elephant Racing rubber spring plate bushings. Specifically, how well do they seem to stay put once glued in place?

Thanks for the feedback.

I have about 20k on mine. The "glue" is JB weld, a two part product (maybe epoxy). The fit of the bronze bushings on the plates was very snug before applying the JB Weld.

I have had the plates off a couple times since initial installation to work on ride height and there's no sign of any movement or other issues. I doubt that if I wanted to remove the bushings from the plates there would be any way short of grinding them off.

By the way, Chuck's products ( I did the complete front suspension with his components) are absolutely works of art. There is no harshness or other issues, everything fit perfectly, and when I called him to ask some relative silly questions, he had incredible patience and was very helpful. I will absolutely do the full boat again on my next car.

I've also got elephant racing rubber springplate bushings to install. I've heard of people gluing them to the springplate, and also people that use lube to allow them to move on the springplate. Any ideas which way is better? I'm almost ready to install them.

Hi Karl,

I'm actually asking about the rubber OEM-equivalent bushings that ER sells. I may eventually decide to go with the PB bushings, so it's good to get feedback on them.

Thanks,

Andy

gtihop,

My understanding is that after carefully cleaning the metal surface the rubber ER bushings are attached with superglue. I'm curious to know how well they remain bonded.

I haven't had mine apart to see if they are still bonded. However, mine do squeak but this may be movement of the outer part, not the bonded part.
