Anyone running MB Quart 4x6's in the rear?

I've read that the MB Quart 4x6's can be used as a replacement for the rear speakers in a Carrera, and that the factory speaker grills can also be used. Does anyone have these installed in a Carrera? Were you able to use the small, rectangular plastic, factory grills? What model speakers are they? DKD146? I'm determined to keep the "factory" look, and was able to install MB Quart 5.25" speakers in the doors, while using the factory grills. Now it's on to the rear, and if possible, I'd like to use the same brand of speaker. Thanks!

I really thought about getting those for the rear, but in the end they're still just fill. I put some cheap4x6 in there and reused the grills. Depth was the biggest issue

I have them in my 84, and the fit perfectly with the stock grills. (I don't recall the model number.)

Just a quick call to Rod Birch at Car Audio Innovations should get you an answer to the fitment of the speakers. Or you can E mail him. He's big on the MB speakers.

I can't see anyone going to this extent with a fake...The adapters, grills and hardware wouldn't be cheap to duplicate, and this was an all inclusive package...They're the real deal alright.....

Sony makes a set that fits nice even in a Targa. The sound is fine but they are no way stock in look. I've blown out several other sets (amplifier does that) so went with something that would handle the volume I need when the roof is stowed.

Get a higher quality amp if you are blowing speakers.
