So Cal body shop recommend?

Hi all.

Sorry I know this is a bit off topic but I am looking for a good body shop in the LA area to handle the repaint of my 71 911. The car is actually in reasonable shape, very little rust, straight. Just dead paint and a lot of dings and scrapes I need out. I want a place that does good work (little or no bondo please) but don want to spend a million. Brace's in MDR has been recommended but they gave me a bit of a attitude when I brought the car by. Any help much obliged.

W.

I was very well recomended a body shop in Huntington Beach, I forget what it was called. However stay away from the one I went to in Costa Mesa, I had to get my job done 2 times. If you want the name, send me a P.M.

Not only a board favorite but a personal favorite also. He currently has my 356 that we will be starting soon. His shop is wall to wall Porsche right now with everything from a carbon fibre dressed 993 to a "Porcupine" and an original 71 911 S recieving the full treatment. Be sure to look at the black '77 while your there. The paint is remarkable.

KevinP73 has painted more than a few of the cars pictured on the New Year's Day Run. I've used him for -- and recommended him for -- RS flare installations.

Also, Kevin has a pretty strong background in fiberglass, so he can make tricky parts like spoilers and RS rear bumpers fit...

Brace's has long been the Gold Standard in L.A. Porsche bodywork, but I've seen paint jobs come out of Kevin's shop that are just as good -- and somewhat less expensive -- than Brace's $10K repaints.

[Disclaimer: Kevin's a friend and I did his shop brochure. But I'm also pretty critical in judging paint & body work, and I've had Kevin work on several of my cars.]

He does many Porsches from local POC. The price and quality is very good. He was recommended by Aase Porsche in Fullerton.

Axiom Motorsport is another (310) 995-4243 ask for Joe.
They are at:
Axiom Motorsports
710 Vesta St
Inglewood, Ca 90302
I was referred to them by Dave at TRE. I haven't gotten my car back, so we'll see. I think Joe is doing one of Dave's personal cars.
