Not mine, and out of my league on price, but someone may want it...

Curt?

Andras Nagy 01-05-2005 03:57 AM

Wasn't the TAG/Porsche engine a 10 cylinder?

Wil Ferch 01-05-2005 04:04 AM

TAG/Porsche was a V-6....1.5 liter as I recall.....turbo

Wil

svandamme 01-05-2005 04:44 AM

hmm, would that fit in my 924?
a Porsche V6 924 turbo
interesting

Bobboloo 01-05-2005 04:49 AM

Curt lives in the Midwest and this one is in California.

cegerer 01-05-2005 05:06 AM

I've got my feet up on mine as we speak. Not for sale.

svandamme 01-05-2005 05:36 AM

i think i can make that fit in my 924
might need a tiny little bulge to clear the intake manifold, but not much...either way , i can live with it...

Bobboloo 01-05-2005 05:38 AM

Hey, I've got a lamp that would look good on that coffee table.

Bobboloo 01-05-2005 05:40 AM

Oops, let's try that again.

Constructed from the famous "unobtainium" metals and weighs only 60 pounds.
Hmm.. nice..

blue72s 01-05-2005 06:28 AM

If I remember correctly, 1.5 liter F1 turbo engines produced in the region of 1,500 horsepower on qualifying boost!

Who said there ain't subsitute fer cubic inches?

Actually Curt; that looks like a 928 engine -- I only see 4 intake ports on either side.

Here's a picture of the F1 engine.

By all accounts, using it as a coffee table was by far the best use for it.

could also be one of the Indy V8 blocks my guess would be 928 as well , that front extension looks 928 like

Andras Nagy 01-05-2005 07:03 AM

John,

Your picture is of a V12, a much later version of F1 than the TAG F1 (which is, as you can see in the original post, a V6 (just like the Audi A6).

Now then, didn't Porsche also develop a V10 for racing, which now resides in the Carerra GT?

Let's keep all of our Porsche V engines in perspective, guys.

svandamme 01-05-2005 07:06 AM

that F1 V10 would have been for Footwork , but they ended up broke and the project ended prematurely

then it was redeveloped for the LMP001 endurance proto ( but that's very hush hush and Porsche denies it ever existed

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1104941444.jpg

then just a few years later the CGT appeared with a V10

Hi Stijn,

You are The Man. You must read Auto- und Motorsport magazine. They are only ones who report thoroughly on matters-Porsche.

We once visited Rotterdam when I was living in Schweiz, and it is a nice place (away from the shipping docks).

svandamme 01-05-2005 07:20 AM

lol , i just sit way to much surfing the web while i should be working

Rotterdam , personally , i hate it with a passion , i'm flemish (belgian ), not dutch... can't wait to move back to my own country , where the country roads are less crowded... but not in a hurry for as long as the 911 is still in pieces
