'real' as opposed to 'retro-hallucinations', mirrages, dis-embodied physical entities, or flashbacks?

What is 'real' and what is 'originally real' and is there a difference? What is truly 'original'? The very first? The prototype?

My God this is a complicated post.

Leno's car isn't really "restored" either. They had that baby on the speed channel. GM could never build a monster like that. The body hides a monster engine. It's fast, even by Leno's standards.

It's in...not yet running. Hopefully on the road this spring.

I'm a sucker for the 2.7, so that's what's stuffed in there. It's a fiberglass body/tube frame/frankestein that is taking a long, long, long time to finish.

Did you swap in a five trans? I'm a lazy bastard and used a conversion flywheel and the stock four speed.

obviously difficult to tell from photos, but the pics in the Tajmagarage site looked like the real deal to me. I doubt there are too many spyder replicas on the road with Type 547 4 Cam engines. I also saw some rivets on the body in the engine compartment.

There is a guy in our local PCA with a really nice replica that comes to the autoXs I think the motor is a type IV vw, but even with that that's a lot of juice in a little package. It just looks like lots of fun to me.
