wrong muffer straps?

putting the straps back on a stock Carrerra 85 they apper to long. One more than the other one. did the plate shop give me someone elses straps?
part numbers are 930 111 175 00 and 930 111 159 00

Those are the correct numbers for the Carrera straps. Perhaps you are not installing them correctly?

The long one goes around the cross over pipe as well as the muffler, driver's side. The short one only goes around the hanger bracket and the muffler, pass side.

They sound correct. The longer one goes on the right side (looking at the rear of car) and is longer to clear the frame at this point. Work them around a bit and you'll figure it out. Be sure they line up with the spaces on the muffler and this will make it go easier. Good luck.

Apparently I ‘m not. Surely they don’t go around the heat exchanger tube and then the muffler? As one strap is longer which location does the longer strap go? Closest to the muffler opening (driver side)?

Oops, just checked my car. Longer one is on the right side. It goes around the cross over tube. Short one only goes around the muffler bracket.

thanks for looking Don, Cuz I just tried it again with the long one on the driver side and it was not looking good.....
