Or a list of those who's major contribution to board is dealing in used Porsche parts. I did a search on Scylla6's posts on Pelican and he's at least 95% of the time buying/selling. I think he's posted on the Technical forum 4 times. It would be nice if Pelican members knew who they were dealing with: (1) genuine enthusiasts or (2) people trying to make a living dealing in used Porsche parts. I know it would have an effect on my negotiations.

politics may make the situation difficult?

How about a key word, like "crook" or "scumbag" written in the post so it could be searched?

ps: crook scumbag so this post can be searched

For me that behaivior is some kind of canibalism.

I,m not buying and then selling. When I said that I got this set of Fuchs of four for such a nice price the person that is a fellow Posche owner and restorer knew the value and I knew the value. This was just a good faith axchange.
You don't see me posting items on "ebay" ore else.

Sorry to hear about that.
I guess whatever comes around, goes around:

Posted by scylla6 on the 911 used parts classified section. Topic: Ebay Fuchs Fraud:

"Just a heads up for the forum.
Looking on Ebay for some fuchs I saw an auction for some deep 6's. It was mine!
I looked twice, same words, title everything! It got me thinking I was losing it. Mine ended last week. How can that be?
Well it looks like someone just stole my auction and listed it. The sellers ID is SKMIDGETT and the auction ends in 3 days.
Perhaps it's ok, but it sure seems pretty cheezy. Be careful."

Just thought it was funny that the guy might have been a victim of his own games. A little justice perhaps?

edit: I think you may have missed that I was referring to scylla6 meeting some of his own kind.

I've been around people like this before and let me tell you, I couldn't spend five minutes in their shoes. The problem with being a scammer is that you think the rest of the world is just as miserable as you--a pretty dark place to spend your life.

A side note, when I do business with anyone on this board I always check out their previous posts. If most or all of their posts are in the classified section I approach the transaction very differently and none of that Pelican comraderie enters the deal. Instead I treat it more like an ebay transaction. I've found you can tell a lot about a person by their previous posts.

Cool

I am in sympathay.

I have found flakes among Porshe owners. Real Flakes. Some are even nice to you after they've gotten to you.

Long ago I had had local personal experience with one of these types. Very often they prey on our good graces/manners and think we are weak or stupid for it. Integrity is a tough thing. Sometimes it wounds oneself, however I wouldn't be without it. Don't worry about those without integrity, they don't lose any sleep without it, but indeed are lesser for the lack of it. In short, they are theves. They steal our good trust but are no better off for it.

Kurt;

Are those the wheels we were e- mailing about before Christmas ?
I would have done alot better by you - actualy I did on a fog switch , paid more than I would have liked but that's what it cost and I believe that in the end you should pay what the seller wants or walk. Some bargaining is not unreasonable but LYING is never acceptable.
Also buyer and seller beware ! This site is fantastic and everyone that I have dealt with in three years has come through, but there are Ah@#**^ everywhere and I am always nervous until I open the box.
Another great thing about this site - no-one gets away with their BS for very long -

Better luck next time - you deserve it.

John

Kurt, I am not going to attack you personally, nor am I going to engage in name calling. I just noticed this post and am quite upset.
Yes I did buy the wheels. I drove 6 hrs round trip to see them. On the phone you told me they were excellent condition $1000 a set of 4. Fine. When I got there I found that they were not in excellent condition. I bought the two for a 70S. I bought them just so the trip was not a complete waste. Did I screw you over?
Take the wheels and not pay?
After having them here for a couple months I decided that they were just not what I wanted for the car. It would be hard to sell them in the condition they were in so I refinished them myself. It took over 12 hrs per wheel. What do you suppose my time is worth?
I really wanted a nice set of anodized ones so I put these up on Ebay. In the end, if you take into account my time and effort I definately lost money. For me it was not a good deal, but I made it and paid you for them. I'm not going to cry over it. A deals a deal.
I just wanted to get the story straight here. I like this forum and the members. Hope there are no bad feelings.

Always two sides to a story........

I'm not taking sides here but thanks scylla6 for replying in a civil manner.

Well said Rick;

And not to add another side to the story, but I asked to see more detailed pics of those wheels - IF, I repeat IF , they were the same wheels in question - because they did look a little rough to me.
The switch I did buy was fine though.

Be careful out there...

John

Tom you are 20 minutes from me (at least you said you were). Condition ? There was no damage . They just needed a refinish like every other one out there. And you did nothing than more than rattle can between the spokes. Thats the way its done right ? Spray paint them and double your money. By all means once you paid they were yours, but to make me believe they were for you was wrong . I would have never left my $500.00 price for 2 if I knew you were buying them to sell.

John the reason I didnt send you close ups was because Tom bought 2 of them which made it a broken set . They were just very dirty in the group shot I sent you.

Travel time has nothing to do with the price of the rims, that's up to the buyer. You can't expect the seller to make concessions because the buyer had to travel , give me a break.
