RS Carpet or Not - Advise Please

Stripped the interior of my Cab and I'm looking at carpet options. Bob at Appbiz says it may be possible to get an RS style carpet set to fit the Cab in perlon. I want to reinstall the rear seat bottoms, but not the backs. My only other option is an oem style plush black. I have new RS/916 Appbiz door panels and new black leather seats. What do you think? I leave the DAS Sport roll bar in most the time, but need to be able to remove it and have the 7 year old sit in the back.

John

Perlon is not the most durable material and will show wear pretty quickly.

I use the carpit that you can get at Lowes that looks almost like Perlon. Its a little darker and is used for stairs and Hi traffic rooms.
It works great.
Its the GruppeB comming out in me.

Wear is an issue with the RS felt. It also does not save much wt. But it does make the car look more like a Lightwt. RS rather than a Touring RS. The specs I've been able to find out for the felt are on my Models comparison doc at Thom's web page, rennlight.com -- or at the Rgruppe site.

There are authenticity or 'fakeness' issue also -- if you didn't lighten the car a lot then is is morally correct to put the flet in there? I'll leave the answers to those trained in moral philosophy....
