Spark plug wires installed, please check my work
I installed new spark plug wires on my 84 Targa. I am using the original 1984 wire routing which was the 4, 5 and 6 wires run through the intake manifold...which means they are much harder change if I've installed them incorrectly once the intake manifold is on the car.
Please check my work and make sure these are on right. Thanks!!! |

wires on my 1986 do not route under the intakes on the manifold. that aside, your wires appear to be correctly connected

Yep, I think that this wiring was 1984 only, and many people with 84 cars have installed new wires with the routing over the fan housing and under the AC compressor.

When I replaced the wires in my ‘84 (which I believe were original), they were indeed routed through the intake manifold. I routed the new wires under the a/c compressor, which I like much better. It may not make too much of a difference, but I didn’t love the wires sitting directly on top of the hot engine. I note, however, that the original wires lasted a very long time in that configuration.
