Super Duck Tail

I've searched the archives to no avail, but somewhere in the recesses of my memory I recall seeing a "super duck tail." It was basically an oversized duck. Does anyone have any pictures of this beast, or verification that no such a tail ever existed.

Thanks,

chris

There was an RS for sale maybe a year and a half ago... somebody had extended the duck 4-5 inches. I think maybe it passed through TRE at one point.

I don't recall anyone thinking it was Factory-inspired. Maybe some privateers might have sone something like that...

Do you mean this one? It kind of wraps around into the RSR flares.

No, it didn't wrap around, just kind of like a hybrid of a duck and a whale tail. I think the tail was just taller, and extended further. Probably close to what Techweenie is describing.

I like the "duck" above for a vintage look on a race car that may increase downforce on the rear. It certainly looks as if it might work.

the one we had (actually two came thru our place) had a built up section added on to the original duck. Fortunately for the owner, all the build up was easily removed and the tail restored to original. These mods were patterned after some experiments the factory tried. NOT oem production!

TRE-- I gather the duck that you saw was sort of an abomination; that's why you pulled off the extra material, right?

Zeke - that looks interesting, but it's hard to tell from the photos. It looks like.... (I just deleted a long sentenc trying to describe it which after typing made no sense at all). It's interesting but hardly graceful.

Thanks to all. Let me know if you find anything else.

The add on was done very well , with a very lightweight plastic filler. At first glance, one could be fooled into thinking it was a rare oe item. but since no rs was ever delivered to the public that way, it took some long stares to try to get used to it- in the end the client did the right thing and had it removed

The factory did modify one of the ducks on an RSR, I have a picture in one of my books at home. Drop me an Email to remind me and I will take pic of it and send it to you.
