Thumbs up * A track day trip us Pacific NW'ers are going to probably take

Here's a possibility of a good trip, taking in three great tracks in a few short months.

April 8th at Thunderhill with PCA Golden Gate region, 9th at Infineon with NASA, 10th at Buttonwillow with NASA.

Sacramento to Sonoma is <100 miles, Sonoma to Buttonwillow is 240 +/- miles.

Rev em up...

hmm....maybe a SoCal contingent wants to head north, then back south for this? Do you have to be a NASA member to run with them?

Ooh ... sounds like a fun road trip. I could put in for leave to get a long weekend. Todd, I'll meet your "Do you have to be a NASA member" question and raise you a "What does it cost" question.

Thanks for the heads up, Craig.

well, I just joined for $40. Looks like DEs are $225 for two days at Willow. $279 to do one day at Laguna Seca.$275 for 2 days at California speedway, $195 for one. Hmmm....who's run with NASA DEs?

Anyone done the competition driving school from Driving Concepts?

I've run with NASA. They run pretty good HPDE's, although you don't get as much track time as a group like OTR offers. The way they do it also varies from area to area (So-Cal, Nor-Cal, Nevada).

My opinion would be that POC's competition school is better. (But that's just an opinion.)

A bonus: Now that you've joined NASA, you're eligible to run your SC in T3 of the Open Track Challenge.

Don't think I haven't pondered that. Looking at the times from last year I imagine I would be pretty seriously bringing up the rear, but it's all about competing rather than watching, right? You only go around once.

$1500 though....ouch.

wrt schools, I already did the first POC school. I assume the "Racers Clinic" is the next step (after getting the requisite STS events in). Looks like that is in June.

This is 3 tracks in 3 days, almost as good as OTC.

BTW, I thought 3 liter and over goes into T2.
