H4 replacement on a 1976 911
My car is missing the manual.
I purchased some H4 with busted lens. I believe i have figured out how to replace them but my next project is to put them on the car. Is the head light just held on my one screw on the car? (each light) The H4's have two bolts but i guess that is for alignment , is this correct ? (head light direction) I believe i figured out the weird spring holders on the head lights. (back side on the head light rim ring) Any help is appreciated. thanks jpc ![]() ![]()

The PO of my '89 must have switched over to H-4's (presumably from H-5's)....I had a '76 P-car many years ago and never had reason to work on the headlights, but I would speculate that the attachment set-up is very similar. The external headlight trim ring hooks over what I would call a "lip" at the top of the cut-out and then the bottom of the trim ring is held in place by one screw. The other screws in the trim ring are for the alignment adjustments.
