ATTN Zeke Rgding MB911 Muffler

Milt,
How did the new muffler fit? I have ordered one from Ben. I have an RSR look in the bodyshop, now (Axiom Motorsports, refered by TRE). I'm contemplating bumper cutouts for the exhaust or having the outlet pipes exit underneath the unmodified rear valence. Did you use a TRE FG rear bumper? If it is not too much trouble, pictures would be very much appreciated (in this case, worth their 1000 words). Could you post or email me direct? dougwierenga at cox dot net

I live in SoCal too, and will thank you in person, some day!

Best regards,

Doug

Sorry, I can't be any help right now. My aunt passed away Monday of this week and the family has been busy with that kind of affair. Between work, which is backed up because of the recent weather, and the fact that I spent a lot of time with my aunt in the last month has the car behind schedule.

I have been working of the car at any time I could find at odd hours. Actually, I have logged a LOT of hours. Seems to me that one of the last things to be installed is the exhaust, there's just a lot more room to do anything you might be doing in the back w/o the H/E's in the way.

So, as anxious as I am to get it on there, I still have a couple of things to do first. The car will probably sit on the ground for the first time in 7 months sometime next week. The plan was to go the the POC school and first Short Track event the weekend after this. But, the memorial service is scheduled for Sat, Jan 29.

Now, I am focused on Sun, Feb 6th. I told myself that I would be there in my car if I had to push it. It didn't make Ventura, the New Years Day run and I missed out on just about everything that went down in 2004 except going out to Ca Speedway twice for the lunchtime lead/follow. The only other time the car was out with any Pelicans was the Glendora Mtn. run and I got lost at the end and missed breakfast.

You know, there are a lot of people that wonder if I even have a car. It's been a monster of a job bringing this thing around, worse than building the 914 from the bare tub up. It won't be painted when it gets out of the barn this time, but it will get to the AllEuroSwap and Ben's muffler will be installed if there are no problems.

That's only 2 weeks, come see and hear it then. cvfncrew may have his by then too, I don't know. But mine should be one of a kind, never to be duplicated since Ben installed my own megaphone tips wide spread way out to under the shaved steel factory bumperettes. I think it's gonna be cool.
