This Ebayer is pricless..

Lucky for me he saved my email address when I asked whether it was a turbo or just a turbo body car...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4518186706&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

Cause now he's willing to entertain offers of 18K if I am still interested. He want to use the capital to go into an M3.

Seems to me like he was being deliberately confusing. the title clearly says '74, but with an 86 "look" and then goes on to describe the '86... Totalyl mis-leading. I had to read it twice... ...and still didn't know if it had a 3.3 or the 2.7

here is the gem we're talking about.

I dont even think they made turbo targas in 1986, not that this car has anything at all to do with a turbo of that vintage.

Well he goes on to say that it has a 2.7, but his pal the mechanic says it feels like it only has 5 or 6 thousand miles on the motor.

Has nothing to do with an '86 or a Turbo

It looks more like a '94 Turbo 3.6. If you're going to lie, at least lie accurately and to your best advantage.

The flaming floormats had me at hello.

Car is made of all sorts of parts. BBS Moda wheels, Turbo bodywork- 964 type, some kinda custom center console, yellow seats that slap you in the face,................ definitely unique.

The ad is just littered with "used car" sales pitches. Quite amusing. Here's a good one.

"The Body and interior are ALL 1986 items, and to anyone in the industry, they would look at it and tell you it is an '86."

Uh, yeah? Some people did some wacky stuff back in the 80's, so the above quote is not too far from the truth.

He does state that
The speedometer is currently not connected to the transmission, and consequently does not work.
That really installs confidence.....

300 HP? Turbo or Turbo Look?????

The market has spoken -- Hardly worth a dollar more then $7K.

He says it is an 86 body on a 74 frame. Last time I checked my car was a unibody. I don't believe anything he says in this ad.

That guy is completely full of crap, isn't he? "RARE" Targa - right. It's clear that the guy is being as misleading as he can get away with.

Everyone has an opinion....this ismine
Is this a joke?
It certainly sounds as if the "owner" doesn't have a clue. I like the answers to the posted questions.
It does have "Euro" side lights in the front fenders.
He seems to be a golfer so how bad could he be, not that I play golf.
Salvage title, The train didn't do too much damage at the RR crossing!
I hope no one gets "stuck" with this POS

I like when he explains, ...OBTW yes it does have a 2.7 with carbs, but it's comparable to a 3.3 Turbo.

You have to login to EBAY to see the complete answers. A lot of double talk.

Maybe I and some of the locals should make a trip to Grayslake and see this Porsche blessing in person? Not sure some of the GruppeB guys could stomach this helluva ride, Chuck? And these guys are pretty hard core!

Salvage title. Oh yeah. This thing's gold. Gold Jerry! Gold.

Kevin if you make the trip up to my neck of the woods let me know I would happily acompany you. And as a plus you might get to see my 911 that I didnt have last time you saw me.

For <$5K it might be a very interesting proposition. The pieces should most likely net about that amount or slightly more so. It wouldn't make sense to buy it for anything higher then that. Especially if it's not local.
