Not to derail the post here, or to step on Chuck's toes, but is there a set of components that would let you fabricate your own monoball-style upper front strut mount? That catalog from UB machine seemed to have everything in the world!

Did you see mine ($154) for my porsche air ride system:

Doozer, I'd seen your post early on, but never to the point of your Summit solution. What I'm curious about is whether there's a monoball you can use to adapt the existing camber plates. Something you could weld or screw into place. Something like this:

IMO the need for a setup such as this is lessened now that Elephant has
components to improve suspension -

I am sure the one you need is on one of these two pages, I just have never measured it. You would have to machine a cartridge to hold it.

How about the chamberking from WEVO? It replaces the entire attachment peice and allows more camber without having the install those camber boxes.

Back on the strut links ...

I'd go with Al - should already have the hex/square machined into it for adjustment. 6061-T6 is the standard and should be plenty strong.

Isn't anybody worried about the single shear design?

project935 03-05-2005 07:36 AM

If you are talking about the strut links, they are not mounted in single shear. The body end is captured between 2 mounting plates. The main link end is a clevis mount over a tab protruding from the link.

The ERP design uses a 'single shear' mount for the main link at the crossmember. In actuality, there is a steel boss pressed into the crossmember, the heim mounts over the boss, and a bolt goes thru the boss and has a lock-nut on the opposite side. The main link isn't directly attached via the bolt only.

The Kanna design has a separate arm that goes around the main link heim for a true double-shear mount.

Updates.... Anybody.... How did this work out. Have they held up also looked like these could be built for less than the $1800 price of what is available.

Bringing back an old thread. I am looking at the 935 front suspension options at the moment. I am going for the ERP one, but interested to know more about the comparison between the ERP and Kanna designs.

Has anyone got experience using both of these, or views on the designs?

Taking another shot at reviving and old thread here. Curious is anyone has any experience with a 935 front end setup on a street car?

I have a race car I'm taking back to street/track and really really don't want to remove the 935 setup! It's just too pretty.

Forgive me for asking...but why re-invent the wheel Doesn't Rebel Racing sell a 935 front suspension kit like this already engineered and race track prove? I am running their rear 935 spring plates and coil overs...Clint makes good stuff.

My kit is from TRG I believe. Wondering if anyone has experience running 935 front setup on the street? Thanks!

No direct experience but why not give it go?

I'm assuming you'd need softer springs and more complaint shocks but I'm sure you could use it on the street.

you can search under my name and look for my 911r build. I just installed a full 935 suspension set up with coilovers from Elephant Racing.

I have been running full coilovers on my 930 for two years now and I could not be happier. I just could never get the torsion bar setup right and getting the height dialed in was a paint in the ass. The car feels amazing with coilovers. Zero regrets.
