Unhappy Body shop woes...

Long story short I got rear ended a bit ago, nothing major. So I got my car back today and was the least bit happy about the craftmanship. First of all I get the car and my shifter linkage is all shot. I cant get anything but first gear so I get some tools from them and fix it. Wow what the hell. Then I get home to do the final adjustment on my shift linkage and I look....no rear tail light, blinker, brake, lisence plat light on the passanger side. You have to be kiding me. Then I look yeah the scuff is still there that i told them I wanted fixed that they said they could buff out. My ass its still there. And then there is still water and salt coming from inbetween the light and the bumper on the left side. It was like that after the accident. It just looks like they put two new bumperettes on and charged me for them. What a peice of work. Im going back on Wed to set them stright. It just pisses me off that they serve me with a friendly attitude and then go and do bull**** work. errrr Just when I thought I got my baby back and it goes right back in.

Take it from someone who's been there. DO NOT accept anything less than what you deem as completely acceptable. If they give you a hard time, take it up with your insurance company. Worst case, pay them for the parts they replaced and find a reputable body shop to complete the repair. Also, time is critical. Take care of this right away, or things can get difficult or impossible to correct (ask me how I know...).

You should do what I did. Marry a woman who backs her minivan into something at least once every 6 months. You get to try out bodyshops on a vehicle you don't give a rat's behind about. Find a winner, then take your Porsche there!

Take it easy, you will get them to fix their error much quicker if your "calm".

The small body work on my car was done twice, I got to admit, it looks like new after the second try.

Yep you have to look at it this way. If you piss someone of by immediately putting them on the defensive why do expect them to help you.
