O2 Sensor Thread Size?

Guys,

Got a SSi Hx that has a oxygen sensor port in it. My 77 C3 engine won't need that hole. Is there a plug for that hole? Does any body know the thread size of an oxygen sensor? Or does anyone have an old dead O2 sensor that they can get me.

Thanks

John,

Try a normal spark plug in the hole. Believe that they are the same size!

According to other threads it's 18mm x 1.5mm. It's also been said that a sparkplug should screw into the 02 bung. Shouldn't be hard to find a bolt and wassher to plug.

Hey, with some more spark plug wire and a little richer setting...

I see a flame thrower in my future

Thanks!

Well, back to the drawing board. The hole in the SSi is much larger than a spark plug. Does any one have contact info for SSi?

Thanks

John, go to the junk yard and get a couple of old O2 sensors off any car (well, most..some have smaller sensors, but they use a bushing). The 18X1.5 is fairly common. You then cut or hammer the sensor and ceramic bit off, then fill it with a weld or JB Weld. Instant plug. If you don't want to go to the trouble of a junk yard, get some cheap O2 sensors from a Farm and Fleet or the sort.

I don't believe that epoxy will hold up at those temps.

I have 4 old Bosch sensors if that will help.

I'll check the thread and post tomorrow. If it's compatible I'll send it to you.

Oil pan drain plug (not Porsche). Go to Napa - they'll fix you up.

When someone mentions "sparkplug size"....I hope it's clear that it's not a Porsche (14mm) plug...denoted by a "W" prefix using Bosch nomenclature...but a "D" 18mm plug from some other car....right ??

" Is there a plug for that hole? "

I have a note that says a Toyota Truck drain plug has the same thread dimension (M18 x 1.5).

Hope this helps,
Sherwood

Hey Guys,

I went to Standard Auto Parts and got a generic M18 x 1.5 drain plug. It worked like a champ
