Question about wiring aero mirrors

I am attempting to install aero mirrors on my '85 Carrera. Do I need to use the relay modules, or can I just solder, and shrink wrap the wires together?

As far as I know you'll need modules for proper operation on an '85. A search will yield alot of info.

Here's one thread to reference. Please be aware that there are variations in wire color codes between years. I have heard of others wiring directly but have never seen it done.

Thanks for your response Rick. I searched this yesterday, and read much of your previously posted information on this topic. What I couldn't determine was whether I needed the modules or not. I spoke to Brad from BW Motorsports a few hours ago, and he said that I did need the modules, which agrees with what you have said in the link that you referred me to. I will now order the modules, and hopefully my install will be a success.
Thanks again for your help.
