81 SC Airbox and clutch same time?

Well it's time to go to the Porsche Hospital in Denver. 1981 SC with 86,000. Had a friend tell me Stuttgart does good work and not to much $$. I want to thank Grady for all the info on Independents in Denver. Wonder if they should do a new clutch while they have the motor out. They said they would measure and if it's 50% + not to worry about it. How much more time would it take? What other things should I consider having done while thay are there? | ||

Well, the engine has to come out for bith procedures so the question is do you need a clutch. If it is at 50% and you drive your car 2,000 miles a year then the clutch will last you another ten years. That being said it is still a bit of work once the engine is out.

Yep, while the engine is out... Check for any oil leaks. It's much easier to replace leaky o-rings and seals when the engine is out. I agree that the clutch should last a long time, unless the previous owner didn't know how to drive.
