Looks wierd... Modified tail, modified brakes, cheaper seats (they came with the Leather Recaro PP without the Recaro mounting brackets)...
I am not sure... 3.8 RS were very rare... why spend a lot of money to "upgrade" and make it worth less??? |

It's a tarted up RS America. Not a factory 3.8 RS. Still, has some nice goodies on it - it may even have a 3.8 in it.

It's not a 3.8 RS at all.
It's an 1993 RS America with a (claimed) 3.8 liter motor in it. It's a pretty nice looking car, but I wouldn't bid on it without a good pre-purchase inspection worked into a bidding agreement with the seller.

When I was shopping for a new car I actually noticed that the RSs and RSAs tend to be worth a lot more with good upgrades as opposed to most other cars.
the 3.8 tail is pretty nice on RSAs actually... same downforce as the early turbo tails, but less drag, and he's got a big front spoiler, too much front for my tastes, but it's probably very well balanced. I think he made a dumb move with the brakes, should have moved his fronts to the rear instead of putting the 993 rears on, ugly as sin airbox cover, but other than that looks like a nice RSA and if the description is correct... that'd actually be a kickass track car.... not that I'd ever replace mine of course

This car has been on the RS site for sale going on two months now. I agree, it’s a US spec RSA that’s been upgraded. Personally I don’t care for the 3.8 wing, and you cant run it without any wing at all, especially with that front valance. It appears to be a really sweet car. The following is the description on rsamerica.net.
VIN# WPOAB2964PS418125. Grand Prix White. 68,221 Miles. Second owner. Factory options: A/C and sunroof. Perfectly suited for both street and track. Upgrades include: 3.8 Liter built by Turbo Werks, Inc. Ft. Lauderdale. All the good internals. Mahle pistons & cylinders, billet connecting rods 52 MM stainless intake and 49MM exhaust valves, ported and polished heads, 993RS cams, adjustable fuel regulator, GHL headers, Fabspeed muffler and dual exhaust, custom chip. Engine has about 8 hours on it. Big Red turbo brakes front and rear and GT3 limited slip differential. Saftcraft dual Halon fire system, Recaro Pole position seats, Simpson harnesses, 3.8 wing, Speedware front splitter, Auotpower roll bar with custom padding, H&R lowering springs, Battery cut off switch, int. & ext. corner balanced. Becker Mexico radio, Air conditioning works, All carpets still in place, All work was professionally done. 4 sets of wheels: 18” 8 & 10 3.6 turbo Speedline street wheels, Cup wheels 8& 9.5 x 17” painted red with DOT track tires, stock wheels painted white with color center crests and good stock size tires, aftermarket Cup wheels 7.5 & 9 x 17” silver. We have all of the original parts, rear wing, seats, steering wheel, mechanicals, etc. We have all of the paper work from the original owner, car was stock when we purchased it and all paper work for modifications. Car is in excellent condition. It would cost $75,000-$80,000 to duplicate an RS America to this spec. $67,900.

Nice car - looks as if it has all documentation to prove everything.
At $67,900, I say "Good Luck"

FYI a correct Carrera RS 3.8 is a widebody. Very rare, only a handful produced to homologate the 3.8 RSR. See photo.
