Windshield washer questions
My drivers' side washer jet wasn't working at all until I poked a wire down the jet holes. Now it squirts a little. The passenger side squirts like it could drill a hole in the windshield!:D has anyone removed and cleaned out a jet to restore its' performance? This is the heated type on my '87 Carrera. If my trouble is compounded by a poorly functioning T-connector and I were to change it out, do I replace the crimp rings with hose clamps or are crimpers and rings available somewhere?
Attached is a pic of the T-connector with crimped rings. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1107199775.jpg |
I'll bump this one up.
After a recent cold spell my jets stopped squirting:eek: The passenger side now works but there's nowt from the drivers side. All the hoses look to be in place. |
Thanks Chris. This has been inoperative since I purchased it 10 mos ago. It isn't cold related unless the cold weather in the past caused some break down in the jet.

T-piece
Hi Hendog,
The T-piece you're reffering to is actually a valve. This is the most probable cause of your problem. Partnumber is 91462843300. The crimped rings are still available but you can also use little hose clamps. Kees. |
As kees said. The L & T valves clog & no, you can't just blow them out to clean. Replacements are cheap. Go to Home Depot etc for hose clamps - plumbing dept. Or you could also use tiewraps in a pinch. Tighten with pliers to clamp.
