Distributor wire, 2 or 1?
I'd like to know whether the green wire going to the disributor is two or only one wire. The problem is my tach. It goes dead for a while, and then work for a short time, and dies again.
I've opened the tach, and that does not seem to be the problem. The green wire is in a bad shape (brittel and cracked), and I'd like to replace that. Where the green wire enters the plug, which plugs into the distr the plug has two points. Does this mean that when I cut the wire I should have two wires? PS I looked at the wiring diagram, but cant realy make much of it. Thanks Marius

The green wire is coax, one inside the other, shielded.
If the car runs well, that isn't your problem. The Tach gets it's signal from the CDI box, I think the wire is purple. Tom |

Marius,
If the green cable is cracked, then it needs to be replaced immediately! They are a known problem and you can find many, many threads on the subject with a search.
