Ok, we need to no kidding "pool our resources" Steve's Jacket
This is quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen in my entire life.
I've searched for an hour now on three different search engines and haven't been able to find another one. I'd pay about half what they are asking. We need to pool our intellect and figure out if there is another source for these! Who else digs these duds??? eBay ad: You are bidding on a very rare, very cool, brand new, Grand Prix Jacket, these are the race jackets worn by LeMans driver and made famous by Steve McQueen in the film LeMans. Very touch canvas with inner and outer pockets, quilted red linning and emblazeoned with the following race livery. Heuer on the right cest along with Firestone and Gulf stripes on the left side, made in germany for race drivers. Unworn with tags and in packaging, obtained from LeMans circuit in 2004 @24HR, through the current Porsche Team. An essential piece of Motor Race History and a perfect to any Porsche or Super Car driver. Believe not commercially available. This is the real deal, a genuine Race Driver Jacket, grab a bargain!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Lee, your search skills are waning. Anyway, in order to wear this jacket you need to be nearly as cool as Steve himself - otherwise you'll end up looking like a geek. Can you pull it off? Notice I said "nearly" as cool. This is because it's almost impossible to be "as cool". |

Steve McQueen wishes he were as cool as Leland.

honestly, if somebody else wants to arrange it and if the vendor is secure, I'm totally in for a group-buy for that very jacket.

And as I was typing I was saying to myself, "Leland, do you really want to tell people you used three search engines and came up with nada". Go figure, John.
And yes, I stared at the jacket for a while trying to decide if I would look good wearing it or... if my imagination is stretching it a bit.

You know... I need to quit coming to this site... It has caused all sorts of marital stress... New IROC bumps and a duck for the Carrera, an RSR project car... Lot's of other little "must have" things...
And now Leland comes up with about the coolest item ever... Which one do I want? The blue striped leather is sweet!!!!

wasn't there a jacket available for a while that you could go through and pick the different patches and logos you wanted on the jacket?

I emailed them a couple of hours ago about a group buy discount and they responded saying we would need 10+ orders.
Edit: They said they could probably do a 20% discount, which would be awsome! If there's enough interest, I will start a seperate thread.

Gotta get the cotton one or it wouldn't look cool tucked into your racing pants (See picture of Steve)!

Here's the other cool jacket thread:
Cool Retro Jackets I prefer this jacket actually but I'd participate in either group buy.

I'm just worried I would look this gay wearing it. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
