New animated MFI engine versions

The cold start injectors got a makeover this afternoon, squirting a tiny bit of raw fuel once every complete cycle... I know it's not "technically correct" but there are limits with .GIF files that are on a continuous loop.

An "x-ray" version of the same thing:

Now you guys who want to see FIRE and SMOKE, hang on!

Jim Richards 02-11-2005 05:23 PM

Darryl, you're amazing! :)

Fishcop 02-11-2005 05:41 PM

Very cool

jpahemi 02-11-2005 05:47 PM

Darryl:
That's amazing! The butterflies are closed.

DarrylD 02-11-2005 06:42 PM

Ha! J.P. that explains why no fire in the cylinders!

Another enhancement pending...

jpahemi 02-11-2005 06:45 PM

Don't forget the piston squirters. ;~)

I wish there was a way to ad a controler so we could increase the rpm. I want to see this badboy turnin' out 4300 rpm!

Jim Richards 02-11-2005 07:09 PM

Leland, step away from the MFI. :p

DarrylD 02-11-2005 09:15 PM

Well lookie there, open butterfly valves!

abisel 02-12-2005 05:12 AM

Now if you could just make it interactive.
Such as move the mouse over the throttle and rev it up as long as you hold down the left mouse button and then when you release, it idles back down. That would be way too cool. Better yet, would be to add the sound of an engine to follow the rev-up and idle back down.

Don't forget the oil squiters.

cmonref 02-12-2005 06:10 AM

What is the "squirt" that appears above the throttle plates, coming in from a small diagonal "pipe" from the left -- about even with the centerline of the fan?? The "squirt" appears to be timed with the bottom of the power stroke.

"DARRYL! THIS IS YOUR BOSS SPEAKING. I NOW UNDERSTAND THE DELAYS WITH THE SWEENY PROJECT! COME TO MY OFFICE IMMEDIATELY!"

:D

Brian - it looks like Darryl didn't warm the engine up before releasing it....
