brake lines

I am going to make my own brake lines to replace the old rusty ones on my 69 911 is it ok to size up one size or should I stay with the tiny things it came with ??? thank you Rob

you might have problems finding the right sized threaded fittings for the ends, to go into the master cyl. on one end and the flexible line on the other end. In other words, I'm not sure you can up-size the line without up-sizing the fittings. Otherwise, you should be fine (won't interfere with the function). you shouldn't need to up-size if the normal size is available to you, though.

Upsizing the lines won't give you any benefits unless you are using some extreme brake system where you have to move a lot of fluid. The more fluid you have in the lines, the higher the risk of moisture effects and vapor locks. You also increase the compressibility of the whole system which is not really helpful. Also the stock brake fluid reservoir migth be too small to compensate the variations of the larger fluid volume caused by temperature variations.
