Kiln Red body and Platinum wheel color question

Hi, I have an '84 with factory original Kiln Red body and Grey Beige interior. The Fuchs wheels came new with the car in '84 but had been repainted body color by a PO. When I got the car the wheels needed to be redone.

I decide to do to the job myself. Upon stripping the wheels down, I realized that they were originally painted Platinum Metallic which was a very close match to the Grey Beige interior.

I decided for the near term to paint the wheel centers silver, polish the lips and add silver Carrera stripes. Eventually, I want to have the wheels professionally re-done to take out some rash and dents and I was wondering if anyone has seen the original Kiln Red/Platinum combo before and/or may have some photos. Also, just out of curiosity, does anyone know if Porsche tried this wheel/interior accent scheme with any other colors in the mid '80's.

I may be able to find Carrera stripes in a closely matching color to Platinum Metallic as well. I'm not sure if the wheels in Platinum alone would look too bizzare.

Here's a pic of how she looks today.

Thanks,

Hey Kilo, great looking car. How about shooting the Fuch centers the same color silver as your Carrera script ? I think it would look very sharp, as well as a little less Bling with the full polish wheels. Doug

Doug,

Actually, The centers are silver and not too far off right now. If I decide to keep the silver motif I will try and match them as close as possible.

Nice look. Great color I like the silver centers and polished lip especially with the Carrera graphics. Post some after pics when you get it lowered.

Nice set up! As for the center caps, the ones below are sprayed with Wurth's silver metallic lacquer. Not sure if they're a match or the look you're trying for, but its another data point.

And a full set:
