New shoes on the 993!

Tomorrow I'll take some respectable photos, but I am an impatiant SOB.

I got a set of 18" hollow spoke turbo twists for the 993. Talk about w_i_d_e... 285 30 18's in the rear and there's still a bit more room for width.

And I got the calipers painted. Speaking of calipers, I ordered the "PORSCHE" decals from a really cool guy in Malta who sells them on eBay.

He gave me 8 of them. So, I got a little creative.

What do you think of my helmet???

ta da!

It looks "light years" better with the twists.

For reference, here is a shot with the Cup II's:

They will now serve track duty. A buddy of mine has this connection. A guy who travels the circuits and buys race tires from guys with near-unlimited budgets. I can get hoosier slicks that have had one qualifing lap on them for about $70 a piece.

I like that look! It's always good to go wider!

I like the cup IIs better????? the twists look bling to me the cup 1s and IIs more like track refugees. The twists are light and wide though!!

FYI there is several people who sell track tires like that. The advertise in the SCCA mag. I used to buy full sets of slicks for $200 shipped (13" though)!! Some times they were excellent and sometimes not as good. Worked well with my budget.

Ok a couple pics:

Everything is so damn ugly here in central MT. It's depressing... I drove around for about an hour trying to find a nice photo shoot spot. It didn't happen, so I came back home. My nasty garage is more appealing to the eye than this dump of a city.
