What to do with old 911 Magnesium wheel?
I have an old magnesium wheel, i think its a mag lite IIRC. its 16x11 and weighs something like 13.5 pounds or something. Its taking up room in the garage. If anyone wants to to restore, whether you have been desperatly looking for a replacemtn for your bent wheel, or want a table ornament, or you know the aproriate place to sell it (is ebay worth a try?) let me know!
I normally a rennlist resident, but I know pelican is more likely to know something about this wheel. ~Eyal

Eyal,
Send it to the Shelby Museum in Boulder, CO. I’ll reimburse you the UPS shipping. Either they or some other appropriate museum will value it and give you a receipt. You can request that it always be displayed with “Donated by…. or other.” The value is usually tax deductible charitable contribution. Attn. Greg Volan The Shelby American Collection 5020 Chaparral Ct. Boulder, CO 80301 303-516-9561 The museum has the world’s best collection of GT-350s, GT-500s, Cobras, and GT-40s. Absolutely amazing! Best, Grady

Grady,
as a student I could really use some money for it. As an enthusiest, I really like that idea. Thank you for the suggestion. If I can't get it sold within about two weeks, I'll do that! I feel bad for trying to sell it now! It does, however, need restoration. Harry, thats right, minilite! I worked on the car all of yesterday. All I have to do is get the vacuum lines routed (to a vacuum manifold, that should be fun) get all the intake stuff on, and get the exhaust on. Oh! can't forget the most important part. I gotta fill it up with coolent! It should run tonight harry. ~Eyal

Eyal,
Take the wheel by an automotive museum in LA (there are a lot) and ask their opinion. Some museums have funds to purchase things like that. I think that if you have a valid appraisal of $10 and you sell to a museum for $1, the $9 is deductible. (I am not a tax accountant or an attorney but I did stay in a Holliday Inn Express a few years ago.) Best, Grady
