Momo Horn Button
I finally upgraded my steering wheel to a new Momo Retro Wheel. This thing is great, and really improves my interface with my 74 911. One thing that got me was the horn. I thought I had simply not fixed the wiring correctly, but after another install that didn't 'honk' I checked the horn button with a VOM. Between the two spade connectors on the back there is no connectivity when the horn is pressed. The rivit that connects to the spring in the horn button seems to not be connected. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I tried to move the spade connector back and forth a bit with no change.

I pinched the wires during my install and had to rewire. Doesn't sound like your problem if you got a positive VOM reading. I have friends in Cedar Park and come that way in the 911 frequently, will look for you on 1431.

Sounds like it is broken internally. If it is new, send the button back for a new one.
If used, see if the seller will refund the cost of a new one. Or just buy one with a porsche logo! (You know you will eventually anyways...) ![]() Or, fix it.

Yea, I know. I've been thinking of doing just that.

I managed to find a solution to this issue, hopefully someone may find this useful in the future. I disassembled the horn button by gently pushing in the retaining pins on the back which releases the small ring that holds the horn together. There is a large contact brass rivit that makes contact with a large spring. This rivit seemed to be my issue. I rotated it counter clockwise for about 90 degrees and checked connectivity again. All was well. My best guess is that there was a piece of plastic or some such nonconductive trash in the way. Now I have a horn again.
