No emissions reading from computer - reset procedure?
This is my first post to this list. I just bought my first Porsche - a '96 993 with 21K miles (the sale was contingent on passing emissions - so it is technically not complete yet). Before the purcase, the battery had been diconnected and the computer has "lost" the emissions state (O2 readings and others). I was not able to pass an emissions test a few days ago since the computer is not providing info - and I have been told there is a procedure available to bring the computer back up. I have driven the car approx. 50 miles at various speeds since battery has been reconnected - and that has not reset the computer. Does anyone have an exact procedure to reset the computer - or any other hints? Thanks in advance. Chris

Go to the rennlist site, and search archives. In some instances if emissions pass, the state refree will waive the readiness codes, at least in Calif
