Weird paint code?
My 73.5 has a paint code that does not match anything I've found on this board, on glasurit's, or paintscratch 's websites...
It's possible that this is repaint job (pretty much everything on the car is a question mark as it is) but if so, it was thorough.. The paint code is 325-9-1 not a match for any format I've seen out there... Any idea what this is? Thanks ! |

IIRC, 325 is Silver Metallic. -9-1 are where it was painted and with what brand of paint. That's a pretty color though, what is it?

Hard to tell from this pic but it looks like Aubergine to me.

I believe that paint colour is called "stunningly beautiful" :-) Seriously, though, that's a great looking car. If I ever do a repaint, I'm definitely going for Aubergine.

It's not aubergine...The photo is also flattering... But it's not bad looking either. It's more of a copper brown metallic, and all the hidden areas are in a slightly lighter brown, which kinda shoots down blue and silver (thanks guys) unless someone rebuilt this car from the ground up. Come to think of it, this is possible as well... I am truly confused what this mongrel of a car really was ;-)

not aubergine, could be burgundy, but the paint code doesn't match for either colour!

Ok, thanks ! I agree it matches nothing.. Given that the paint is actually crap upclose (never buy from a digital camera picture, it looks fantastic in the above post -let me tell you, it looks like it was painted with a brush), I now feel no remorse repainting this car to my liking... Any last thought of originality is now officially out of the window ;-)
