A word about Valentine One service.
My V1 stopped working. No power. I was pretty sure someone tap danced on the power plug while it was on the floor board. I sent my V1 off to the factory with my check for $45 and a note explaining that I thought I might have broken the plug.
Ten days later, my V1 arrives back. New plug. Unit works great. They even returned my check with the unit! Great service, great product, great people.

It's great to hear about a mfgr. who provides customer service. My V-1 has never needed any, but I do believe that the V-1 is the greatest self defense device since the single action Colt .45!

I'm sold. Those are the kind of stories you like to hear. I know what my birthday present to myself is now.

It's the Porsche of radar detectors. And, Mike Valentine likes 911s too.
He founded and/or did the design at Cincinnati Microwave for the Escort and then the original Passport - these still work better than most currect detectors today. As that co. went more towards marketing and less towards max. performace, he started up the Valentine company.

I just sent sales at valentine this thread.
Sometimes people like to know when they are doing things right. but it sounds like they would know this already. |

That's just great. Reaffirms my choice in radar locators once I redo my brakes & get my Steve Wong chip in. Thanks for posting this type of experience.

on the other hand - I sent my Bel in to be repaired - after I sent it away I discovered that the fuse was blown (poor wiring by previous owner). Bel cashed my cheque for $125 and didn't say a word.
