Funky tire brands?

Well, we have all heard of some new of funky tire manufacturer names. I thought I'd start a thread so we can educate ourselves on who these manufacturers really are.

For example, before I wrecked my 911SC, I installed Fuzion "high performance" tires on it. They were fantastic tires, especially at the 75.00/tire pricepoint.

Here are some parent -> child relationships;

Bridgestone -> Fuzion
Sumitomo -> Dunlop

Feel free to add to this list.

I have used Fulda Extremo's on my 325i and they stuck well (and wore out pretty quick too). I have also used Falken 451's (I think that is the number) on my 951 and they stick awesome too. Both are in the $80-$110 range. I will not hesitate to put either on my SC when the time comes.

Visa->Falken (or at least distributed by them, made in Japan from what the guy at America's Tire told me)

I used Fuldas many years ago and was not happy with the wear or handling.

Sumitomo is a wonder tire for $42 a pop. I use 16" on my MB and love them! Quiet, wear well, good wet grip and decent overall handling characteristics.

When I purchased Tire Rack was the only US retailer.

Not sure if this is all that funky, but:

Michelin -> BF Goodrich

BF Goodrich as a company hasn't manufactured tires since 1986, I believe.

I put Nokians on my truck a few weeks ago, I'm going to put them on the Porsche when it needs new tires too.
