Ugly and I would think unusual for a CA car.

Looks like an early car, pre-galvanized. That may be the problem. After 30 years, even in California, rust is going to happen.

I bet he can really hear the engine inside the car. Great induction sound.

Hmm.

Engine compartment has CDI so 69-on, carb air cleaner, so this says 69+ 911T. But engine lid has 2.4 logo?

What you fellas got here?

That would make a great aquarium display - you can put some pieces of coral, marine snails, limpets, & barnacles on it and blame them for eating away the metal.

I understand. Hopefully you are on the high ground physically and not in the path of some ground movement. Good luck.

Send some of that moisture to Denver. While the Rockies and ski areas are inundated with snow, we are dry as a bone. We could use a good 36” blizzard. Our PCA Swap meet last weekend was great and all the hot cars are driving around every day.

For those that haven’t seen this, here is a classic example of a leaking rear window seal that was left unattended to over a long time. The upholstery gets wet and never dries out. You can see the result. Not much of a problem in Colorado or the desert South West but carnage elsewhere.

Best,
Grady

I've been wanting to start a thread with this title, so thanks to TRE, I'll just add:

I am so sick and tired of all this freakin' rain! For our friends in the snowy areas who are envious of the Cali weather, well, we have been paying dearly this year. Seems I can only drive the 911 about once a week. Every other day has been a deluge in which it is not much fun to drive a 911.
We finally got a break today so at lunchtime I took off the roof, tossed the wife in, and off we went to the local twisties. Happier now. Car is happy now too. Wife was giggling like a school girl as we pushed 6500 rpm over the whoopdeedoos and twisties.

Looks like we'll get even more rain next week.

You found a road that was in good shape and clean enough?

Dave, I asked you not to put those pics up of my car. You might scare Todd's boy again like I did once before.

Ya, I was kinda surprised myself. I expected some rocks or sand. The roads around and just north of Vandenberg Village (near Lompoc) were completely clean.

The rain can be a pain but since I'm able to turn off the sprinkler systems it can really save me major $$$. BTW, my 1940's tractor which sits outside has much less rust that that car

So how do some of us So. Cal. Porsche fanatics tolerate all this wet weather??? I get my daily fix racing my favorite game, Porsche Unleashed, online. I have to admit that being able to drive a virtual GT1, Moby and the like does make me want a newer P-car!

Sorry to see that. Ive been there. I was so sick when I pulled the carpet out of my '73 and realized I could adjust my carbs from the passenger compartment.

I have no doubt that you guys will turn this into an incredible car.
