If You Could Have Any Car...

What would it be?

My choice:

If I had to choose 1 car and 1 car only, and that car would be my only car for the next 10 years, and I didn't have to worry about maintenance costs, then I'd probably take a CGT. If I got to test drive a few cars first then maybe a GT1 or Dauer 962 or even Mclaren F1. I'd have to be able to test drive each first. Ooo, maybe a Koenigsegg or even Ford GT, but I'm thinking that the CGT would win in the end.

The sound of the CGT is freaking awesome. Since it's a Porsche it's built to be a supercar that you can actually use. I think the Mclaren F1 might possibly also fit as well as the GT1 and even the Dauer 962. I'd say a CTR, but as fast and cool as the yellow bird is I don't think it can compete with some of those others. I think the CTR is more of a hammer compared to the GT1 or CGT being more of a samurai sword.

9 5 9....all the way.....silver/red/black doesn't even matter. what a machine!

Porschekid962 02-24-2005 01:11 AM

hands down.

Try and debate this! Totally stock, from the factory CGT doesnt come close. The design is over 10 years old but does not look dated at all. Keep in mind this car was designed down to every last nut and bolt by one of the most influential and revolutionary Formula One designers of all time. His design brief was spare no expense and do everything the way you want to. Beat that!

I present to you the 1995 McLaren F1 LM

For the pleasure of driving and the nostalgia of a time gone, a GT40, or rather a perfect (non-rusting) replica, complete down to the rhd, and the shift lever in the sill.

It'll be a toss-up between Jack's BB2 and Jamie's ST.

So when can I take delivery?

Cheers!

F40

I would build it myself. Start with a licensed kitcar chassis of some sort to make it 'legal' and proceded to jack up the radiator cap and install a complete new car.

I have a spare G50 and a 4.3 liter all aluminum V8 that needs a good home. Just a little fabrication project to keep me busy for a decade...

Yeah, I'd have to say some sort of RSR replica, with a more modern EFI motor and ABS. But lightweight with more of a raw feel. I may still get to build one someday...

A (real) Shelby 427 Cobra. I rode in one for the first time several weeks ago and I still can't get it out of my head.:)

'73 RSR or an ST. Replica's would be fine as I don't envision myself as a collector. I'm a user.

wholberg 02-24-2005 05:39 AM

I would love to have either an original Porsche Spyder, or a Cobra 427, but they are both so rare that I could not bring myself to drive the heck out of them, so, I'll have to go with the Carrera GT. Performance issues aside, I thint it's the sexiest production automobile in the last couple of decades.

This one is for sale. Fifteen foot wheel base and 700 cubic inches. A real bargain at $10 million. Sell it and buy several of your favorite cars in a different color for each day of the week. ;)

Think my choices would be a 73 RSR or a 97 Turbo S followed by a Lambo Miura.
